FWBBC Announces Commencement plans
NASHVILLE, TN Missouri executive secretary Gary Fry and Tennessee pastor Randy Riggs are scheduled to bring challenges to Free Will Baptist Bible College’s 2006 graduating class in May, according to President J. Matthew Pinson.
Reverend Gary Fry, who also chairs the FWBBC Board of Trustees, will bring the final challenge to graduates at commencement exercises on Friday morning, May 5.
Pastor Randy Riggs, who leads Good Springs FWB Church in Pleasant View and serves as moderator of the Cumberland Association’s Northern Quarterly, will bring the baccalaureate message Thursday evening, May 4.
President Pinson said, “While every graduation is a special celebration, the 2006 edition provides a unique opportunity for the college to honor a faculty member who has served 50 years. That person is Reverend Leroy Forlines, FWBBC’s Theology Professor Emeritus. We invite the denomination to join us in saluting Brother Forlines’ five decades in the classroom and his signal influence in thousands of lives.”

37 ATTEND SENIOR DAYS
NASHVILLE, TN Thirty-seven students from 10 states gathered on the Free Will Baptist Bible College campus November 10-12, 2005, for Senior Days, according to Ryan Lewis, director of recruitment. Senior Days is a new recruiting effort started this fall by FWBBC that focuses on prospective high school seniors and their needs.
Each student was given a personal guide during their stay on the FWBBC campus. The visiting students attended classes of their choice Friday morning after a series of welcoming activities and events Thursday evening. Following chapel, they participated in a question/answer time with Ryan Lewis.
A luncheon with President J. Matthew Pinson put the students in direct contact with FWBBC’s energetic young leader who shared his educational vision and encouraged them to follow God’s will and join the FWBBC family.
Faculty advisors met with the students to discuss their special areas of interest. Jeff Caudill, director of enrollment services, conducted a financial aid seminar and answered questions.
The next Senior Days is scheduled February 9-11, 2006. The college’s annual Welcome Days will meet March 30-April 1, 2006, and is expected to attract more than 200 participants.
FWBBC DEDICATES
TEACHING LAB
NASHVILLE, TN The new teaching lab at Free Will Baptist Bible College was dedicated Monday, November 14, as students, Teacher Education faculty, and guests gathered in Room 201 of the Johnson Classroom Building.
Dr. Suzann Harris, T.E. faculty member at FWBBC since 1994, said, “This is such a wonderful occasion. This is the first time we have a teaching lab where students can refine their teaching skills and create learning centers, bulletin boards, unit plans and more.”
In a carefully orchestrated surprise, the teaching lab was dedicated to Dr. Milton and Mrs. Helen Fields and Dr. Thurman and Mrs. Ann Pate. Helen Fields donated most of the teaching aids in the resource lab along with teaching materials and state-of-the-arts technological equipment. A former teacher, Mrs. Fields said, “I never wanted to throw anything away. I’m so glad the T.E. students will continue to use the materials.”
Dr. Thurman Pate, chair of the T.E. Department, said, “My job here with these students is more than a job. It’s a ministry.”
The teacher education officers, led by T.E. president Jill McAllister (CA), planned the event, secured funding for plaques, and contacted former students and colleagues to compile books of letters honoring the Fields and the Pates.
