BUILD MY CHURCH UPDATE 2005

Through the Build My Church trust, the Home Missions Department has helped 12 mission churches buy property or build buildings! This ministry has been made possible by the first million dollars that our supporters, contributed to the initial Build My Church campaign.

Currently, $726,000 has been given toward the second one million dollar trust. If 274 more churches or individuals will give $1,000 the goal will be reached.

Many of you send offerings on a monthly basis. You are playing a significant role in this effort. Please continue your pledge until the goal is met. Thank you for what you have done already.

CHURCHES REACH SELF-SUPPORTING STATUS

NASHVILLE, TN The Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church reached self-supporting status within a four-year period under the leadership of Cliff and Kathy Donoho. The church has purchased four acres of prime land in a busy and growing area of Nashville with plans for building. The Home Missions Department congratulates Cliff and Kathy on a job well done.

QUEEN CREEK, AZ National Home Missionaries Rick and Stephanie Morris recently completed their goal of bringing the Mountain View FWB Church to self-supporting status. Attendance has grown steadily, and they average 250 in services. Future plans include finishing the new church building, adding a third Sunday morning worship service and starting a school in August 2005. Also, a Spanish-speaking pastor will begin Sunday morning Hispanic services. Pray for Rick, Stephanie and their children Christian, Lacey, and Aubrey Ann as they continue in this Arizona ministry.

SACRAMENTO, CA Congratulations to Vladimir Lopuga in leading the Sacramento Free Will Baptist Mission Church to self-supporting status. Vladimir is originally from Kazakhstan. He, his wife Anna, and their family have worked tirelessly to minister to Slavic people in the Sacramento area. Ask God to bless the Lopugas as they continue to minister in Sacramento.

INTRODUCING NEW MISSIONARIES

Ogema, MN George Lemelin and his wife, Kathy, are ministering to the Native American Ojibwa people (sometimes known as Chippewa) in Ogema, Minnesota. Kathy is a member of the Ojibwa tribe. According to a recent U.S. census. In 2000, 9,192 people live on the reservation, and the tribe currently has more than 20,000 members. Traditional Indian religion dominates the tribe, and witchcraft is also prominent on the reservation. Ask God to open hearts and protect the workers. George and Kathy have three children, Josiah, Marie, and Isaac.

GREATER SALT LAKE CITY, UT Scott and Staci Warren and Randy and LeAnn Ledbetter are teaming up to plant a Free Will Baptist church in northern Salt Lake City, Utah. This area has great spiritual needs. Less than five percent of the population claims affiliation with an evangelical church. Pray for Scott, Staci, Randy, and LeAnn (and their sons Caleb, Jordan, and Luke) as they plant this church and share the truth of the gospel in Salt Lake City. This will be an exciting time for these families! The team is an answer to prayer, and their ministry is vital in the state of Utah.
