Hurricane relief photos

The photos below are scenes from Gulfport, MS where relief workers distribute supplies and repair damage to the Gulf Coast FWB Church.

The following are pictures of the first relief FWB relief efforts at the Gulf Coast FWB Church along with pictures of FWBs distributing water, food, and ice to the Gulfport comunity. The FWB group worked along with the National Guard and Gulfport Police.

The group was comprised of members of FWB churches from Marianna, Blountstown, and Pensacola, thirty in all. Eleven vehicles (most with trailers) carried supplies donated by panhandle FWB churches and businesses. Water, food, gasoline, generators, building materials, and other supplies were distributed to church members and residents of the Gulfport community. Volunteers cleared the debris from the church yard and cleaned out the fellowship hall, while others covered the section of the open roof.

Volunteers then accompanied J.L. Gore, state executive of MS FWB, to a local distribution site where MRE's and water were being given out. Shortly after arrival, the local supply of water ran out. The supply of water from the Flordia churches filled the gap. For the next five hours, tons of food, water, supplies and eventually, ice were distributed at a steady pace as cars filed though the line. Just as our water supply was nearly exhausted, another trailer arrived from Orlando. The FWB volunteers quickly pitched in and the distribution center had had enough water to finish out the day. Every person who came through the line received food and water.

Danny Conn, one of the volunteers remarked, "If only they would all heed the invitation of Rev 22:17,  'Let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.'"
